For Non-U of T Users

If you are not currently a student, staff or faculty of the University of Toronto, you may still use the resources and services of the CIRHR library. There are three levels of access:

Free Public Access

Access to all books and journals in the library is available, without a fee, to all members of the public. Very brief reference service is provided to orient researchers to the collection.  No borrowing privileges.

The general public also has access to the CIRHR Library's photocopier  (10 cents per page).

Library Internet and Reseach Account (LIRA) Workstations are available for library visitors. Click here for more information on access and locations of LIRA Worskstations.

Occasional Researchers

Professional Time: $80 per hour

On-line Articles: Database charges for non-academic users are $10 per html and $20 per pdf.

Print Articles: $25 per title (includes CanCopy tariff and postage)

CIRHR Information Service (Subscription Program) for On-Going Research Needs

This service is designed for HR and IR practitioners who need on-going, proactive research service and information support. Our clients include private sector business, consultants, law firms, public sector agencies, and labour unions.

Services include:

  • Research support: based on our specialized collection of books, reports and journals, as well as on-line databases and the Internet.
  • Perry Work Report (formerly Weekly Work Report) : News and research highlights with an objective, Canadian point of view delivered by email. This electronic alerting service selects stories relevant to HR and IR practitioners. The report also includes the Book of the Week, which highlights current topical books and reports in HR/IR available for loan at the CIRHR Library.
  • Book borrowing privileges.

Fees:

The CIRHR Information Service is available for an annual membership fee of $695. Incidental fees for courier charges and book retrieval charge when title held by another library are billed annually.
